"Faces of Loss, Faces of Hope" started a monthly writing challenge. Since I am basically addicted to blogging now I thought I would go ahead and give it a try.
November’s topic: It’s easy to focus on all the negative things that come from losing a baby, but have you discovered any ‘blessings in disguise’ throughout your journey? What can you find to be thankful for related to your loss?
Although having Carter pass away was no where near a blessing we have seen many blessings come to us in the almost 2 months since.
We never planned to pay for a funeral for one of our children I mean really what 20-something couple does, yet immediately funds were appearing to pay for the viewing, the graveside service, the burial plot and headstone, and even for the bills that we were still paying from his birth.
We also had people calling and scheduling playdates for our 2 older sons while PJ and I made arrangements for his services and found clothes for and dressed our baby for the viewing
Our boys received many gifts from both people we knew and strangers showing that they were not forgotten.
I was blessed to already have 2 angel mothers in my life who were both there for me the day he died(Thanks Barbara and Mary) to just talk, listen or hold me.
I have been blessed with new friendships with both angel moms and with those who I was just getting to know before Carter passed.
But the biggest blessing of all was realizing how lucky I am to have had 2 months and 27days with such a wonderful baby.
